What is the power of Faith?

We can read in the Bible:
(Matthew 17:19, 20) Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said: “Why could we not expel it?” 20 He said to them: “Because of your little faith. For truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard grain, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”

So, what is the power of faith? Jesus said: “… nothing will be impossible for you”.
Let’s consider some areas, which shows, how much power faith has:

Faith makes it possible to walk with Jehovah God

Faith opens up the privilege of of being able to walk with our wonderful and amazing God Jehovah.
For example the Bible says, that Noah walked with Almighty God. What was true for Noah, is also true for us.

Faith moves us to obey the commandments of God without hesitation

An example is Abraham. Even when Jehovah God asked Abraham to do things, which were very difficult. What does this show about the power of faith for us? We also can change things, what are difficult. Or even things we could not change on our own. Like if we have an addiction, which we could not successfully deal with on our own. That is the real power of Faith. This is faith in action.

Faith in the fulfillment of Jehovah’s promise moves us to preach God’s Kingdom

And this, even if it’s difficult. Jehovah’s Witnesses prove this. Even under persecution.
When people begin studying the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses, they may say, that they never will go preaching from house to house. But later, as they grew in Faith, they want to preach the wonderful things they had heard in the Bible. This is because of the power of faith. Faith moves them to action.

Faith moves us to act in ways, that bring blessings to us

People were going to Jesus to become healed. Because of their Faith, that Jesus could do this.
Today also. When we make sacrifices for Jehovah, because of our faith, we will be blessed. We receive amazing blessings. That is the power of faith.
(Mark 10:29, 30) Jesus said: “Truly I say to you, no one has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for my sake and for the sake of the good news 30 who will not get 100 times more now in this period of time—houses, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and fields, with persecutions—and in the coming system of things, everlasting life.

Faith helps us to win the struggle against the super human forces

(Ephesians 6:16) Besides all of this, take up the large shield of faith, with which you will be able to extinguish all the wicked one’s burning arrows.

Like a large shield, Faith in Jehovah God and his promises for the future, can shield us. From all the wicked one’s burning arrows. We can be completely protected. Through our Faith we have the power to do things, that protect us from harm.
Through real Phases we can succeed in temptations. And can get rid of wrong thoughts.

Our prayers will be heard and answered

Faith moves us, to trust, that our prayers will be heard and answers. If our prayers are in harmony with the will of Jehovah, Jehovah God will answer our prayers.
(Mark 11:24) This is why I tell you, all the things you pray and ask for, have faith that you have received them, and you will have them.

So, Faith is powerful. Faith has real power to make things, that seem impossible to man, become realities for people who have faith in Jehovah.
And Jehovah is helping us to develop real Faith through solid evidence, accurate knowledge and his Holy Spirit, his active force.

How can we build up Faith?

How important is faith for Christians today

Jeffrey Jackson from the governing body explained how important faith is for Christians today.
Why do Jehovah’s Witnesses choose Faith as the theme of the Convention 2021? Because we need strong Faith to deal successfully with our present trials. And our trials in our nearby future.

What does this show? This shows, that Faith enables us to do things we could never imagine, to do on our own. For Christians faith is essential.

And God even commands us to have faith

We can read this in the Bible:
(1 John 3:23) Indeed, this is his commandment: that we have faith in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he gave us a commandment.

And in the Bible book of Hebrew we can read:

(Hebrews 11:6) Moreover, without faith it is impossible to please God well, for whoever approaches God must believe that he is and that he becomes the rewarder of those earnestly seeking him.

Real faith is essential to get everlasting life

(John 6:40) For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who recognizes the Son and exercises faith in him should have everlasting life, and I will resurrect him on the last day.”
Those exercising faith can be certain of receiving everlasting life.
(John 3:36) The one who exercises faith in the Son has everlasting life; the one who disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him.

It is clear, that it is essential that we build and remain Faith. In order to get everlasting life and to receive Jehovah’s blessing.
(Romans 1:17) For in it God’s righteousness is being revealed by faith and for faith, just as it is written: “But the righteous one will live by reason of faith.”

All who show real faith, will be rewarded by Jehovah. Based in our faith in the ransom of Jesus Christ, Jehovah God forgive our sins. And grants us a righteous standing before him. And in Armageddon God’s people will be protected.

Do we need to strengthen our faith, if we have already large measure of real Faith?

Many Jehovahs Witnesses have already a large measure of real faith. Jeffrey Jackson from the governing body of Jehovah’s Witnesses quoted Colossians 1:3, 4. Where we can read:
(Colossians 1:3, 4) We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, 4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the love you have for all the holy ones

But constant pressure from Satan and the demons, this world and our own imperfection can weaken and tear down our Faith.
