Finding real Happiness

Everybody wants to enjoy a happy and fulfilling life. But how can we find real happiness? Even in the face of severe problems or illness?

We want to be Happy

Because “Happiness is a state of well-being that is characterized by relative permanence, by emotion ranging from mere contentment to deep and intense joy in living, and by a natural desire for it to continue” (Insight on the Scriptures-Book according to the Watchtower Online Library).

Whom would you ask, how to be happy?

If you buy an expensive electronic device. And let’s say you don’t know exactly, how it works correctly. Or in the best way. What do you do?
If there is any instruction manual from the designer of the electronic device, would you have a look in it? Just to make sure, that you use the electronic device in the best way possible. And not to damage it.
Surely this would mean wisdom in your case. Especially so, if you don’t know exactly, how to use it.
But do we have any instruction manual for us humans?

The only sure way to know how to be Happy

… Is to ask the creator. There is convincing proof, that humankind is created by someone, who is very intelligent.
Because: out of Nothing, can only come Nothing. So, there must have been someone or something, which exists already forever. The question is only, if it is something or someone.
Because the creation proves, that it needs to have an intelligent creator, the only logical conclusion is, that humankind comes from someone. Someone very intelligent. Who exists already forever.

Just imagine: if you would tell somebody, that a house including everything in the house and all electronic devices was not created by someone. But in time just came by itself. Do you really mean, that anyone would believe you? In Fact, what do you think, would an intelligent person think about you. If you really would believe this.
The same way, and even more so, it is with which surrounds us. And humankind itself. The Bible brings the logical conclusion:
“(Hebrews 3:4) Of course, every house is constructed by someone, but the one who constructed all things is God.”
You can get much more proof, that this is really the only logical conclusion. Much more proof, that there exists a creator, God. Someone who created the universe and everything in it. With amazing accuracy and intelligence and wisdom. And not by chance.

If we fulfill the very purpose of our existence, we enjoy a very happy and meaningful life

We fulfill the purpose of our existence, if we use our live in a way, how our creator Jehovah purposed it. When he created us. It is the same with every other instrument, machine, computer or whatever a creator has created. It works only then in the best way possible, if we use it, in the way, how the creator purposed it.

If you want to use a ship to fly, you will not have much success. And if you use an airplane for the purpose to swim in the ocean, it is likewise not very meaningful. You need to use the ship to swim in the ocean. And the airplane to fly. Otherwise you will not be very happy and content with the results.
In the same way also, we need to use our life in the way, that Jehovah God purposed it. Otherwise we will also not be very happy and content with the results.
Only if we live in the way, how the creator purposed it, we can have a permanent emotion, ranging from mere contentment to deep and intense joy in living.

If we live in the way, how the creator purposed it to be…

… We have also the hope of worshiping Jehovah forever. And we have peace of mind, because we know, that Jehovah God helps his worshipers when they have problems. We can read in Isaiah 41:10,13: “(Isaiah 41:10) Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be anxious, for I am your God. I will fortify you, yes, I will help you, I will really hold on to you with my right hand of righteousness.’
(Isaiah 41:13) For I, Jehovah your God, am grasping your right hand, The One saying to you, ‘Do not be afraid. I will help you.’”
What does God, Jehovah God, tell us in his word, the Bible, how we work. To find true and lasting Happiness? Consider the following Bible Scriptures:

How to find true and lasting Happiness?

In the beginning we need to examine the Bible. If the Bible is really God’s word. And trustworthy. And, that we really can’t trust the creator of humankind. And creator of the Bible, Jehovah God. We need to fully convinced, that Almighty God Jehovah teach us to benefit ourselves:
(Isaiah 48:17) This is what Jehovah says, your Repurchaser, the Holy One of Israel: “I, Jehovah, am your God, The One teaching you to benefit yourself, The One guiding you in the way you should walk.
The 2nd step to find true and lasting happiness, is to examine the Bible. What does the Bible teach us to be happy.

Consider the following Bible Scriptures:
(Luke 11:28) But he said: “No, rather, happy are those hearing the word of God and keeping it!”
(Matthew 22:39) The second, like it, is this: ‘You must love your neighbor as yourself.’
(Luke 6:31) “Also, just as you want men to do to you, do the same way to them.
(Luke 12:15) Then he said to them: “Keep your eyes open and guard against every sort of greed, because even when a person has an abundance, his life does not result from the things he possesses.”
(1 Timothy 6:8) So, having food and clothing, we will be content with these things.

(Acts 20:35) I have shown you in all things that by working hard in this way, you must assist those who are weak and must keep in mind the words of the Lord Jesus, when he himself said: ‘There is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving.’”
(Proverbs 15:17) Better is a dish of vegetables where there is love Than a fattened bull where there is hatred.
(Matthew 5:3) “Happy are those conscious of their spiritual need, since the Kingdom of the heavens belongs to them.
If you try to find true and lasting Happiness by this Bible Scriptures, you will find out, that it works. With hundred percent accuracy. Like nothing else.

How to find true and lasting Happiness in a family

But what is, if you have a family? You may ask, is there anything else in the Bible, which can help a family to be happy and successful. And the answer is: Yes.
Consider the following Bible Scriptures for a happy family:
(Ephesians 5:28, 29) In the same way husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. A man who loves his wife loves himself, 29 for no man ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cherishes it, just as the Christ does the congregation,

(Ephesians 5:33) Nevertheless, each one of you must love his wife as he does himself; on the other hand, the wife should have deep respect for her husband.
(Ephesians 6:4) And fathers, do not be irritating your children, but go on bringing them up in the discipline and admonition of Jehovah.
(Ephesians 5:33) Nevertheless, each one of you must love his wife as he does himself; on the other hand, the wife should have deep respect for her husband.
(Colossians 3:18) You wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as it is becoming in the Lord.
(Ephesians 6:1-3) Children, be obedient to your parents in union with the Lord, for this is righteous. 2 “Honor your father and your mother” is the first command with a promise: 3 “That it may go well with you and you may remain a long time on the earth.”
(Colossians 3:20) You children, be obedient to your parents in everything, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord.

What is the difference between Happiness or Happy and Pleasure?

Happiness “differs from mere pleasure, which may come about simply through chance contact and stimulation.” (Insight on the Scriptures-Book according to the Watchtower Online Library)
